My Fave Fashion Trends – Spring ’16?

Is your wardrobe feeling a little blah-seh? This season has so much texture and colour to have fun with.

One of my favorite things about our change of seasons is updating my style and having pieces in my closet that function and always look great. The syles are so varied this spring but so utterly cohesive.

The Victorian look, oh so romantic, is lace and flowing feminine lines that are beautifully and eloquently styled. Poplin and frothy are the dresses. Girlie but elegant.

Flamenco styles… Cuban influence. It’s all about vibrant colour. We’re seeing a lot of crimson, oranges and yellows. Layers of breezy ruffles are dramatic and give femininity to dresses and  blouses.

And then there are the collars…I could go on. The detailing, the delicate lace, rich brocade, chiffon ruffles and pleats galore. Crisp shirting with tailored construction add to the mix. I absolutely love my white shirts. Crisp and starched from jeans to the office they always look great!

For my take on the ruffle trend, I mixed a flouncy top with a pencil skirt because I like how the top balances out the fitted bottom. By adding some pointed-toe shoes, it elevates the look and keeps it sleek. I’d definitely wear this to work and for a night out switch to some strappy stilettos and a moto jacket.

Most importantly, is having your own unique style!!
